RE: A SMart car in your future?

Everytime I bring in my "real" Mercedes in for service at my local dealer, I insist on having a SMART as a loaner, just for the fun of it. Fortunately, the turbo diesel version was sold in Canada. 60mpg is the norm.

RE: math question

The pipe diameter has no effect on the bottom pressure. A 4in or 4ft in diameter will give you the same psi at the bottom of the pipe. The only variable is height. 1 foot of water,(height) regardless of volume or pipe size, will exert a static pressure of 0.43274495394500617psi on the bottom. So, for 35 ft= 35 X 0.43274495394500617= 15.1460734psi :)

RE: Where's the best source for RV rules for a trip into Canada?

GrimmReaperSound We have some conflicting information here. The FQCC (Quebec Federation of Camping & Caravanning) issued a bulletin a few years ago on that specific subject. It clearly says what I said earlier. it even says opened flames (pilots) are allowed in ALL tunnels. Reading further into the regulation you posted, (free translation) These restriction do not apply in cases where the flamable substance is used to operate a piece of equipment which is permentally bolted inside the vehicle and where total capacity does not exceeds 75liters in a tanks originally supplied by the vehicle or equipment manufacturer specifically for this purpose Sorry, I could not get the bulletin in english Need a translation? RE: Where's the best source for RV rules for a trip into Canada?

you must turn propane off whenever you: 1. travel in a ferry 2. use a tunnel or any other "enclosed" space 3. come to any fueling point. The province of Quebec has a different regulations concerning RV with propane. Any/all tunnels in Quebec can be used by RV'ers with a maximum of two tanks of 46 liters capacity (40pounds)of propane each left opened while crossing tunnels. If the total capacity of any of the on board tank exceeds 46 liters(40pounds)or with more than 2 46liters (40 pounds) tanks, the vehicle CAN NOT use tunnels (with open of shut valves)

RE: Niagara Falls - Comments/Opinions/Rec

IMO, one day at the falls is enough. However, the immediate area (Niagara on the Lake, Ste Catherine, etc) is worth 3 or 4 days

RE: Article: US agents given powers to seize/search laptops

.... and it is not only laptops. It also include any device capable of storing information in digital or analog form" including hard drives, compact discs, DVDs, flash drives, portable music players, cell phones, pagers, beepers, and videotapes ....and even digital cameras. But don't worry, it is "Only for a reasonable period of time" Soon, we'll have to "reformat" our own memory brain cells before crossing the border.:R

RE: How does health insurance work ?

But don't worry about it because it looks like no-one is going to need a health insurance as we will be on an equal plane with Canada, England and the rest of the enlightened European community. Do you mean no deductible, no co-pay, no maximum, no bills, no forms to fill, your choice of doctor, your choice of hospital or clinic, no need to shop for the best insurance coverage at the least costs, not job related, no exclusion, covered from foetus to grave, WOW
